Griffin works with Los Alamos New Mexico to increase visits to Los Alamos County’s tourism attractions and overnight stays at local lodging establishments. Every fiscal year, the county puts forth a “lodgers tax receipts” goal. Due to issues surrounding the economy and the lab, fiscal year goals are traditionally modest and in the range of two to four percent.
Griffin employs an overarching strategy of social, new and traditional medias in conjunction with PR to communicate to our travel demographic that enjoys: Science, Southwestern history and outdoors activities such as hiking, mountain biking and skiing. Seasonal campaigns target tourists in target markets identified through research done at Los Alamos Visitor Centers and historical museums. In addition state travel statistics are cross-referenced. During the most current reporting period, lodgers tax receipts were 14% on a 4% goal.
