Joan Griffin, Owner and President

Ms. Griffin, president of Griffin & Associates, has more than 25 years experience as a professional marketer and has provided services to some 500 companies throughout the Southwest. She began her career as a journalist with the Cox Arizona Newspaper Chain. She also has written a column for the Albuquerque Business Times and has been a contributing writer for New Mexico Business Weekly, and has had hundreds of articles and news features on her clients produced and aired throughout the United States. Because of her media experience, she was selected to be Mayor Martin Chavez' press secretary for his re-election campaign in 2005.

David Empey, Vice President

Mr. Empey is Vice President of Client Services at Griffin & Associates and provides production services for the full range of clients. He has 12 years experience working in marketing and public relations. He is strongly committed to building complete marketing campaigns for retail advertisers to increase their market share and to create stronger name recognition.

Barbara Rudolf, Art Director

Ms. Rudolf is a Creative Director at Griffin and Associates. She has experience in all phases of graphic design and production. Prior to joining Griffin & Associates, Ms. Rudolf ran her own graphic design studio in Costa Rica for eight years. She also worked for Beth Tondreau Design, Linda Stillman Design and Fabricon Design Group, all in New York City.

In addition to being a graphic designer, Ms. Rudolf is a fine artist doing illustration and painting. She received a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University, a certificate from the Parsons School of Design and studied with Richard Pousette-Dart at the Art Students League of New York. She is a member of the Bernalillo Arts community.

Dezaree Vega, Account Executive

Ms. Vega is an account executive and public relations specialist at Griffin and Associates. She has experience working with New Mexico and regional media contacts for several accounts including the New Mexico Tourism Department, the New Mexico Department of Health, 505 Southwestern, New Mexico Student Loans and Burt and Nagel, CPAs.

Ms. Vega received her bachelor’s in communications from the University of New Mexico.

Shannon Carey, Graphic Designer

Ms. Carey is a Graphic Designer with Griffin & Associates and has worked with clients including America’s Mattress, The Town of Taos, and Kirtland Federal Credit Union. She is a graduate of Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. Prior to joining Griffin & Associates, Ms. Carey worked with Salmon Press in New Hampshire as well as Pierce-Cote Advertising in Massachusetts.

Shannon has been providing graphic design services for the Town of Taos campaign and the Socorro General Hospital campaigns for the last 18 months.

Sacha Romero, Marketing Assistant

Ms. Romero is a Marketing Assistant with Griffin & Associates. She is currently double majoring in Organizational Communications and Professional Writing at the University of New Mexico. Ms. Romero plans to graduate in December 2010.

Prior to working with Griffin & Associates, she worked as in construction lending and escrow with First Community Bank and Rio Grande Title.

Sean Griffin, Marketing Assistant

Mr. Griffin is a designer in the web and new media department at Griffin & Associates. His previous experience is as a designer and programmer for Real Time Sites.

Mr. Griffin is studying web design at the University of New Mexico.

Ed Waters, Controller

Mr. Waters is the Vice-President of Internal Operations at Griffin and Associates. He completed his bachelor degree in Finance/ Administration at Kent State. He also attended the Halliburton School in Duncan, Oklahoma.
